Smoke Detectors

Don’t forget to check your smoke detectors.

For various reasons, a lot of people don’t know that home based fires are more likely to happen in the winter. Maybe it’s the cold weather that provides a false sense of fire suppression against the flames that can destroy a home. If anything, a fire is more likely to happen in the winter, which is why it’s vital to check your smoke detectors and replace their batteries in the winter.

At OKLO Financial, we see many requests for legal funding coming through, and some of the requests are a result of losses from fires. Which is why we are thinking about the issue of fires and smoke detectors.

Smoke detectors save lives. When a fire happens, most injuries and fatalities from fires come not from being burned by the flames, but from smoke inhalation. A smoke detector will save your life by giving you precious time to escape.

And also, never go back inside a burning building to save property. Let the insurance cover your property loss. If it’s a sentimental loss, it’s still not worth the potential loss of life to save a material good.

Stay safe, and let us know if we may be of assistance.
